BRANCH KIT CONNECTION SENSING APPARATUS FOR AIR CONDITIONER

PURPOSE: A branch kit connection sensing apparatus for an air conditioner is provided to allow air conditioner installation to be performed in a simple way, while reducing the time taken for installation. CONSTITUTION: A branch kit connection sensing apparatus comprises a branch kit controller(30) interposed between an outdoor unit and indoor units so as to distribute refrigerant to the two indoor units of the indoor units; a connector(33) connected to the branch kit controller in such a manner that the connector supplies power to the branch kit controller and receives the signal transmitted from the branch kit controller; and an outdoor unit microcomputer(52) for judging whether the branch kit controller is mounted or not by sensing the voltage signal received through the connector. The branch kit controller includes a spring(31) pressed by an outdoor unit cabinet(40); a switch(32) turned on by the compression of the spring; resistors(R1,R2) and a condenser(C1) for applying voltage signals to the outdoor unit microcomputer in accordance with on/off operation of the switch; and a pipe connection port(34) connected to the indoor units, and which distributes refrigerant.
