PURPOSE: A plier is provided to prevent a surface of an article from being damaged when gripping the article which is sensitive to the damage by forming a soft portion on a gripping part of the plier. CONSTITUTION: A plier is used for gripping or bending articles. The plier comprises a gripping part(110) for gripping a body of a pin or a nail, and a handle(120) for operating the gripping part(110). A soft portion(114) is formed on the gripping part(110) of the plier. The soft portion(114) prevents a surface of an article from being damaged and is made of rubber or urethane. The soft portion(114) is treated with a knurling process, and a contact surface of the gripping part(110) is also treated with the knurling process. The soft portion(114) can be detachably installed on the gripping part(110) of the plier such that it can be replaced with new one.
