PURPOSE: A method for testing a durability of a battery is provided to optionally control a termination of a battery life due to a pole plate problem. CONSTITUTION: A battery in a full charge status is discharged at an ambient temperature of 80°C and a constant current of 100A for 5 seconds. The battery is charged at a constant voltage of 14.2 volts for 59 minutes and 50 seconds. The battery is again discharged at a constant current of 100A for 5 seconds. A process of 6 cycles of discharging the battery at a constant current of 25A for 90 seconds while charging it at a constant voltage of 14 voltage for 210 seconds is performed for 30 minutes. The battery is charged at a constant voltage of 14.2 volts for 20 minutes. A step of 60 cycles of letting the battery alone for 10 minutes is performed for 24 hours.
