摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the degree of freedom in control of a solenoid valve using a compound valve element and improve the flow controllability of a high-pressure pump using the solenoid valve. SOLUTION: A main valve element 54 is driven when attracted by electromagnetic force created by energization of an electromagnetic coil 48, and a sub valve element 52 is likewise driven when attracted by electromagnetic force created by energization of the electromagnetic coil 48. The sub valve element 52 can be opened and closed while the main valve element 54 is kept closed, through energization control of the electromagnetic coil 48 on the basis of the relation between the urging forces that a first ringed spring 58 and a second ringed spring 60 apply to the main valve element 54 and the sub valve element 52 respectively and the driving forces on the valve elements 52 and 54 by the electromagnetic force. The solenoid valve 20 for suction metering can be provided with a high degree of freedom in control, so that only the sub valve element 52 can be driven and that the driving interval between the sub valve element 52 and the main valve element 54 can be flexibly varied to ensure good responsiveness and reliability.
