PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stereoscopic image display device adopting a dual scanning system that can prevent generation of a crosstalk to the utmost. SOLUTION: A liquid crystal shutter screen 12 having shutter screens 12a is placed in front of a liquid crystal display device 11 that alternately displays a right eye image and a left eye image in time division on its screen and simultaneously scans screen areas divided into two. A liquid crystal shutter control circuit 13 switches a polarization direction of each screen 12a in matching with display timing of the left eye image and the right eye image synchronously with the screen scanning of the liquid crystal display device 11, and a viewer watches an image displayed on the liquid crystal display device 11 via the liquid crystal shutter screen 12 by wearing polarizing eyeglasses 23.
