PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology that a reinforcement of a storage part and a fixing of a catalyst carrier are simultaneously carried out and a dimension of a short diameter part can be made compact. SOLUTION: The catalyst converter comprises an ellipse tubular storage part 2 in which a recessed bead 5 is formed along an ellipse outer periphery surface 6 and which stores a monolith type catalyst carrier 3 at the inside; and an inlet cone part 7 and an outlet cone part 8 extending from both ends of the storage part 2 while a diameter is gradually shrunk to a cylindrical shape.
