PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a central ventilation device for supplementing each problem of a ventilation system for recovering at a specific position and a ventilation system for supplying to the specific position, a central ventilation unit, and a central ventilation method. SOLUTION: The central ventilation device 10 and the central ventilation unit 20 can be switched to a forward mode for supplying air that is sucked from the outside of a room to each room via piping 40 and at the same time for unloading air that is sucked from an arbitrary position 50 where the piping 40 in a building is not connected to the outside, and a backward mode for supplying air that is sucked from the outside of a room to the arbitrary position 50 where no piping 40 is connected and at the same time unloading air that is sucked from each chamber through the piping 40 to the outside of a room.
