CARD AUTHENTICATION SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a card authentication system capable of confirming that a credit card possessor about to purchase commodity is the credit card owner himself. SOLUTION: This card authentication system comprises a card reader 5 reading a credit card registered with an authentication code other than a personal identification number, and a credit card process terminal 1 provided with a display part 3 displaying the authentication code read from the credit card. When the credit card is used to purchase commodity, the authentication code registered in the credit card is displayed in the display part by reading of the credit card by a commodity provider, and safety of the credit card can be proved by asking the credit card user for the displayed authentication code.
