PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method/device for selling contents by which digital contents including a book is copied and sold by the unit of sub-contents equivalent to the unit of a page and a sales price is set variably in accordance with the number of sales copies and a time passing after sales. SOLUTION: Book data having index information for identifying each of plural pages constituting the book set to the respective pages is stored in a book database 11 in advance. Then, when receiving a copying request for copying the page of the book partially from a user terminal 5 is received by a copy sales system 1 through a communication network 3 together with a book ID and index information for designating a page, the database 11 is retrieved with this book ID and index information to obtain the copy of the page of the corresponding book and the obtained copy of the page of the book is transmitted to the terminal 5 through the network 3.
