PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device having enhanced uniformity of gap and having no unevenness. SOLUTION: In the constitution of which the column resin patterns 17 to form a panel gap on a TFT(thin-film transistor) array substrate 14, having signal wiring and active switching elements 4 formed thereon are formed, the columnar resin patterns 17 are formed in a screen and on a frame pattern 12 of a panel peripheral part, and further a seal pattern 9 is formed on the frame pattern 12 of the panel peripheral part. Also the frame pattern 12 of the panel peripheral part is composed of a resin film which forms a color filter pattern 5 on the TFT-array substrate 14, and further the inequality |(film thickness of the frame pattern of the panel peripheral part)-(film thickness of a part where the columnar resin pattern is formed within a pixel)|<=0.3 μm holds. Thereby the uniformity of the panel gap is enhanced by the column resin patterns 17, even when no glass fiber or the like, for forming the gap in sealing resin is added separately.
