<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust emission control device for an internal combustion engine which can easily ensure seal performance in the end part of a filter though adopting its laminated structure to be excellent in productivity. SOLUTION: This emission control device (PM filter) is constituted by providing a cylindrical filter 11 consisting of non-woven fabric of metal having heat resistance, a circular annular metal-made seal ring 12, and a case 13 or the like having a prescribed number of through holes in the bottom surface. A peripheral surface of the filter 11 is formed in tapered shape, a plurality of the filters 11 of different diameter are layered in nest shape. Between each opposed surface of these filters 11, the seal ring 12 is arranged alternately in one end side and the other end side. The laminated filter 11 and seal ring 12 are received in the case 13 and fixed by a wedge washer 16 and a bolt 17.</p> |
