PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an optical disk from falling off out of the recess part of a disk tray in the main body of an optical disk drive device when the disk drive device is vertically used. SOLUTION: An optical disk D is held in an almost vertical position in a recess part 7c of a disk tray 7 when the optical disk drive device 1 is vertically used and then the disk D is chucked and released from being chucked to a spindle motor 68. Under such conditions, the fall-off prevention parts 164, 165 and 166 prevent the tray 7 from falling off out of the part 7c.
