PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power transmission device including an auxiliary shifting mechanism capable of being changed over during running. SOLUTION: This device includes a transmission device, a power distributing device installed at the rear stage thereof, auxiliary shifting mechanism installed between a prime mover 201 and the distributing device, a clutch mechanism 203 to shut off the driving force in the upstream thereof, a sensing means 269 to sense previously that the auxiliary shifting mechanism will be changed over, and a controller 255 to make the clutch mechanism 23 shut off the driving force prior to the changing-over if the sensing means 269 senses changing-over.
