A coupling apparatus capable of attaching an implement such as a bucket to a power operated boom of a machine, such as a backhoe or excavator. The apparatus includes a coupling device that can be connected to the boom and that has a hook-type connector for engaging a first transverse pin mounted on the bucket and at least one wedge-receiving opening formed therein. A connecting sleeve device is connectible to the coupling device and has a longitudinal passageway extending therethrough for receiving a second transverse connecting pin on the bucket. The sleeve device has one or two abutment members connected thereto and protruding outwardly therefrom. The abutment member has an aperture formed therein. A wedge can be inserted into this aperture and the wedge-receiving openi ng in order to attach the implement to the coupling device.
