PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure proper communicating state by eliminating the occurrence of failures, such as the data transfer failure, drop in throughput, etc., in a communication channel having poor communication quality. SOLUTION: A transmitter (receiver) used for a spread spectrum communication system is provided with a correlation/synchronization discriminating section 14, which discriminates synchronization between received spread-spectrum signals and spread- spectrum codes by computing the correlation between the signals and codes, an RSSI value detecting section 13 which detects the field intensity of the received signals, and a BER measuring section 18 which measures the BER of the received signals. The transmitter (receiver) is also provided with an interface section 11 for a terminal, which discriminates the quality of the currently used communication channel, based on the results obtained by means of the sections 13, 14, and 18. Since the BER is taken into consideration at discriminating of the quality of the communication channel, the presence/absence of disturbing waves and noise which arrive from other channels and can not be discriminated by the conventional synchronization discrimination, and RSSI value detection only can be discriminated. When the quality of the communication channel is poor, the communication quality is secured by moving the communication channel. |
