PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a series unit for two-way CATV system that can simply be thrown to a position of outgoing signal transmission or 2-way transmission and prevent other party than a manager from carelessly making the switching. SOLUTION: The inside of a case of the series unit 17 is provided with a switch 36 that uses an incoming interruption HPF(high pass filter) to select a terminal Tb1, to which a terminal is connected, whether the terminal Tb1 is brought into a state able to output only an outgoing signal or a state able to input/output both incoming and outgoing signals. A slide switch is adopted for the switch 36 and its operating part, that is, a projection 36a can externally be operated through an operation hole 46d made to a bottom face 46b of a recessed part 46a for protecting the terminal Tb1 formed to a terminal board 36. Thus, the switching operation can simply be made and since a connector 28 usually covers the switch, the switch cannot carelessly be switched.
