PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable an excellent product of a lap type tile to be obtained effectively by a press molding and without deformation after burning. SOLUTION: The lap type tile 1 is provided with a rib 3 bent from the upper end of a face plate 2 to the back part side, and at the same time, an engaging part 4 is formed continuously at a lower position of the rib 3, furthermore, at the lower end of the back part of the face plate 2, a tail part 5, which can be positioned so as to cover a rib of a tile arranged at a low stage, is provided. The lap type tile is constituted by forming side edge parts 6 of which either one of the both ends of the widthwise direction of the rib 3 and the tail part 5 is partially cut off, or the both ends of the widthwise direction of the rib 3 and the tail part are partially cut off.
