PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the size and the cost of an external driving circuit of a planar display device, in which a pixel section and a peripheral driving circuit are integrally formed on a same substrate, by simplifying the peripheral circuit of positive/negative DACICs. SOLUTION: A VCC/2 potential to be supplied to a positive DACIC 111 and a negative DACIC 112 and a Vcom potential to be supplied to an opposing electrode 3 are supplied from a common Vcom signal generating circuit 114.
