OPTICAL DISK DRIVE AND INITIALIZING METHOD FOR OPTICAL DISK

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such a problem that a conventional optical disk drive has worse reproduction jitters of mark since the mark of a specific track is cut radially at random owing to the recording of adjacent track. SOLUTION: This optical disk drive records and erases information in grooves and lands on a phase shift optical disk which has a phase shift recording film reversibly becoming amorphous and crystalline depending upon irradiating light beam to record and erase the information and also has the phase shift recording film formed in the grooves and lands between the grooves and is equipped with a light beam irradiating means which irradiates nearly center parts of the grooves or land with the light beam which makes the center parts of the grooves or lands amorphous and fuses and crystallizes the parts of the grooves or lands except the center parts before recording and erasing of the information are performed.
