PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low-loss optical connector for a polarization maintaining optical fiber, with which the polarization plane axis can be aligned. SOLUTION: With the frame 34 screwed onto the holder 17-1, an angle formed by the polarization maintaining optical fiber 14 and a projection 33 can be adjusted continuously, thereby facilitating the alignment of the polarization plane axis and enabling a low-loss optical connector 30 to be obtained. In addition, with a through hole 36 formed on the outer periphery of the frame 34, and with a slit 37 formed on a connecting nut 35, the holder 17-1 and the frame 34 are fixed by adhesive or spot welding using these through hole 36 and the slit 37, thereby enabling the polarization maintaining optical fiber 14 and the projection 33 to form and maintain the optimum angle.
