PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small-sized laser line generator having superior portability. SOLUTION: The laser line generator is composed of a main body 11 in which a light source 20 emitting laser light, projection lens 21 condensing the laser light emitted from the light source 20 and a light branching means 30 that branches the laser light passing through the projection lens 21 and directs it toward a cylindrical lens 31 for generating a line light are linearly arranged in the direction of optical axis, and a support body that has support legs 5 and holds the main body 11 using a gimbals mechanism 4 so that the main body 11 swings freely.
