PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain such steel plate roofing materials that are excellent in endurance and have an elaborately-designed high quality sense with clayware color tone using iron oxide. SOLUTION: This invention relates to a steel plate for roofing made as follows: with a corrosive resistant stainless steel plate used as a base steel plate, a desired value of 0.5 to 10 g/m2 iron-based plating layer is used per one side thereupon and further on the surface of such plating layer, a 0.5 to 5μm thick clear-coating is formed. After the plate is installed to a roof, the iron-based plating is gradually oxidized to obtain an elaborately-designed high quality sense using iron oxide color of a clayware color tone.
