PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and method for properly synchronizing serial data by detecting idle codes or data transmitted in groups or blocks in not more than a full packet size, and confirming the presence of an error, and properly correcting the errors in a serial data communication system. SOLUTION: This system is provided with a decoder (320) and a detecting circuit (330). The decoder (320) receives data at a packet rate. Each packet includes at least two words, and the packet rate is set lower than a word rate. The detection circuit (330) monitors a data effective signal from the decoder (320), and asserts an output signal (idle transmission) when it confirms that the value of the data validity signal has been changed to a higher speed than the packet rate. |
