The filter consists of a layer of filter material (3) in the form of a single layer card web containing long fibres and a thermoplastic grille (4), fastened together in a locally targeted manner by welding, either by ultrasound, a heated wheel or spinning head along one or more thin lines before passing through a pleater (5). The welding can be carried out on the same machine as the pleating, using a fixed anvil beneath the layers and a fixed ultrasound head (6) above them.
