PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a translucent-reflective liquid crystal display device which is a single polarizing plate provided having with only one polarizer with which reflective displaying with external light and transmissive displaying with backlight illumination can be attained, and display unevenness and alignment defect can be reduced. SOLUTION: The translucent reflective liquid crystal display device is composed of a first polarizing plate 11, a first optical compensation element, a liquid crystal element 20 including a translucent on reflection layer 7 provided with transparent parts 9, a second optical compensating element, a second polarizing plate 17 and a backlight 16. |
