PERPENDICULAR RECORDING HEAD AND PERPENDICULAR MAGNETIC RECORDER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a perpendicular magnetic recorder capable of suppressing the adverse effect to adjacent tracks at the time of recording operation when a perpendicular magnetic recording is performed to a perpendicular two-layer film medium. SOLUTION: This perpendicular magnetic recorder is furnished with the perpendicular two-layer film medium laminating a soft magnetic backing layer (22) and a perpendicular recording layer (23), and the perpendicular recording head provided with a recording main magnetic pole (36) and an auxiliary magnetic pole (35) arranged keeping a gap between them and an exciting coil (37), then the length of the gap between the recording main magnetic pole (36) and the auxiliary magnetic pole (35) is set to five times of or shorter than the guard band width between recording tracks formed in the perpendicular two-layer film medium.
