PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drum brake having a simple and inexpensive structure without the necessity of a shoe hold-down device and having a large space at the contact part of an anchor and a brake shoe that stabilizes the position of the brake shoe, reduces a face pressure of the contact and allows to employ a light brake shoe made of aluminum and the like. SOLUTION: A convex partial-cylinder face 76f and concave partial-cylinder faces 80f, 82f are formed at a fixing part of an anchor 62 and brake shoes 64, 66. The convex partial-cylinder positions approximately vertical against a backing plate 10, and the length of the face is made longer than the plate thickness of a shoe web 20 and the curvature diameter of the face is approximately equal to those of the concave partial-cylinder faces. Three faces 76f and 80f, 82f of the partial cylinders are mated and fixed by quasi face-contact with each other. Flanges 86 in a pair are mounted to upper and lower parts of the convex partial-cylinder face 76f formed at the anchor 62, and the convex partial-cylinder face is enabled to position in the approximately vertical direction against the backing plate 10 by fixing the flanges at both ends of the partial cylinders 80, 82 of the brake shoes 64, 66.
