PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical switch network or the like with a low loss, a small size and abundant extension performance. SOLUTION: One embodiment of the optical switch network of this invention is provided with input ports, output ports, a plurality of wavelength conversion means 31 that correspond to the input ports and convert a wavelength of light received from the input ports, and a selection means that outputs output optical wavelengths from the wavelength conversion means 31 to a specific output port in response to the wavelength. Since the optical switch network of the configuration is not provided with an optical branching coupler, the optical switch network has a low loss, a small size and abundant extension performance in comparison with a conventional optical switch network of a distribution selection type. Furthermore, in other embodiment of the optical switch network of this invention, an optical changeover means that switches a path is placed before and after the optical branching coupling means, and since the number of distribution paths in the optical branching coupling means is reduced in this configuration, the loss of the optical SW network can be reduced. |
