PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a supervisory camera system that simply acquires a supervisory object with a supervisory camera. SOLUTION: Measurement cameras 11a, 11b provided with a fisheye lens photograph a supervisory area R and display the photographed image on two measurement monitors. A user uses a mouse to designate a supervisory object S in two displayed images. A system control circuit calculates the position of the supervisory object S by means of a stereovision method. Directions of supervisory cameras 21a-21d are directed in the direction of the supervisory object S based on the calculated position of the supervisory object S. Control of the supervisory cameras 21a-21d enables to track the supervisory object S or the supervisory object S is automatically tracked and a recorder records the video image of the supervisory object S.
