PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a safe for a vending machine, capable of retaining shutter in an open state by the operation of a key and being laid, in a state which is resettable to an vending machine. SOLUTION: This safe comprises an open lock member 75 for locking a shutter member 31 in an open state, in a state where the safe is removed from the vending machine. In locking the shutter member 31 in the open state, the shutter member 31 is opened in a state where the open lock member 75 is retained in a retreated position, and the open lock member 75 is then moved to an abutting position. Accordingly, the shutter member 31 can be locked in the open state by the operation of an exclusive key. This safe further comprises a lock release member 76 for moving a close lock member 61 from a lock position to a non-lock position in interlocking to the operation of an exclusive key K. Accordingly, since the safe can be laid in a state which is resettable to the vending machine, the sate where the shutter member 31 is in a close position but is not locked with only the operation of the exclusive key K.
