LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY DEVICE AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING ITS COUNTER SUBSTRATE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily manufacture counter substrates of various screen sizes and to reduce an initial cost of a liquid crystal display device. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device constituted by pinching a liquid crystal layer between a matrix array substrate 2 and the counter substrate 3 consists of the constitution, to form counter electrodes 7 over the entire surface of the counter substrate 3. Only the counter electrode potential wiring 27 and conductive pads 28 for supplying potential to this wiring are arranged on the outer side of a sealing member 40, on the side which does not have terminal pads 33 for connection to external PCBs. Consequently, the liquid crystal display device, with which the unification of the counter substrate 3 is attained and which contributes to a cost reduction and will not give rise to the display defect by electrolytic corrosion or the like, and the method of manufacturing the counter substrate 3 are obtained.
