PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color image recording device which has a small-sized, simple developing unit with good maintainability. SOLUTION: A developing unit 1 is loaded from a replacement position in a direction perpendicular to the shaft of a rotary body and arranged at an image formation position through rotation and movement. An electrode roller cover 28 covers the surface of a developing roller when closed, and is stored in a storage part within the rotation occupation space range of the rotary body when opened to expose the developing roller. A photoreceptor belt unit 2 is arranged at the image formation position in a direction perpendicular to the rotary shaft of the rotary body so that the photoreceptor side having a photoreceptor shutter 48 faces the inside of the device. The photoreceptor shutter 48 covers the photoreceptor surface which faces the rotary body when closed, and is stored outside the rotation occupation pace range of the rotary body when opened to expose the photoreceptor.
