PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elastic gasket for a joint of a plate material, enabling mounting operations to be easily and safely conducted even when the plate material is installed in the place where access from the inside to the outside is impossible or in the place where fitting from the outside is attended with risk. SOLUTION: The elastic gasket 3 for the joint 5 of the plate material is provided with an outside seal lip 2 for covering the obverse-side ends 8 of the plate materials 7 whose end surfaces 6 face each other through the joint 5, a main body 1 installed inside the seal lip 2 and buried in the joint 5, and an inside seal lip 3 installed inside the main body 1 and fitted into the joint 5 so as to undergo elastic pressure welding to the end surface 6. A tensile piece 10 is integrally formed inside the main body 1. The elastic gasket 4 is pushed from the reverse side of the plate material 7 into the joint 5 and protruded to the obverse side thereof. The tension of the tensile piece 10 allows the seal lip 3 to be fitted into the joint 5, the ends 8 are covered with the seal lip 2, the tensile piece 10 is cut, and a seal material 9 is infilled from the reverse side of the plate material 7 into the joint 5.
