PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved backlash gear device of such a structure as conventional that a backlash load is generated by the resilience of a spring for reducing meshing noises, involving such a problem that the meshing noises include much striking sounds in meshing in the low-speed rotating range and much booming sound in the middle and high speed rotating range, wherein it has been difficult to reduce the striking sounds and booming sound simultaneously to below the specified level over the whole ranges from the low to middle and high because the striking sounds are reduced by enlarging the backlash load while the booming sound reduced by lessening. SOLUTION: A sub-gear 7 is rotatably installed at the shoulder 6 of a primary gear 2 fixed on a crank shaft 1, and one end of the spring 10 mounted on the shoulder 6 is engaged with the shoulder 6, while the other end is allowed to penetrate the sub-gear 7 and engaged with a centrifugal weight 13 installed in line with the sub-gear 7. The centrifugal weight 13 is arranged movable outward in the radial direction in rotation upon receiving a centrifugal force in the middle-high rotating range, and at this time, the other end 12 is moved together for varying the backlash load on the sub-gear 7 in the direction of weakening.
