PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a vending machine manager to easily confirm as to whether a fluorescent lamp is extinguished due to a failure or is normal. SOLUTION: This device comprises an arithmetic control part 1, a fluorescent lamp control part 3 for judging lighting, extinguishment, and darkening of the fluorescent lamp, on the basis of various pieces of information related to the control of the fluorescent lamp; a fluorescent state confirmation input means 4 for confirming the operating state of the fluorescent lamp; and a fluorescent lamp state display means for displaying the operating state of the fluorescent lamp of the vending machine. Accordingly, since the vending machine manager can easily find the control state of the fluorescent lamp, only by inputting the state confirmation of the fluorescent lamp from the fluorescent lamp state confirmation input means 4, he/she can immediately grasp, when the fluorescent lamp is extinguished, for example, as to whether the extinguishment is caused by timer set, by an illuminance detector, by the operation of automatic energy- saving function, or due to a failure.
