PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To dispense with the need for selection of a specific icon in image drawing operation and enable area designation with a free curved line so as to facilitate learning of drawing operation and so as to improve operability. SOLUTION: A graphic image drawing device is provided with a determining means converting a drawn graphic image into dot sequence data and inputting them, calculating the central coordinate of the inputted coordinate dot sequence, extracting the movement characteristic of the inputted coordinate point with respect to the central coordinate, and determining an inputted graphic image, on the basis of the extracted movement characteristic. The determining means recognizes that the inputted graphic image is a straight line or a curved arc from a coordinate distribution width, in a direction orthogonal to the moving direction under the condition that the movement characteristic be linear in one direction, while the determining means recognizes that the inputted graphic image is a circle or a polygon, under the condition that the inputted coordinate point be rotated and moved and that the graphic image be closed.
