PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable even a person who is not conversant in computer system to easily estimate resources when the system environment is altered, and make a reappraisal of system parameters. SOLUTION: This resources estimation device comprises an input part 48 for inputting environment composition information (the number of machines, protocol or the like) of the computer system (clients 101 to 10n, clients 10n+1 to 10n+m, server 30), a control part 42 which if the computer system is to be newly constructed, substitutes the environment composition information in an absolute quantity estimation expression that estimates the absolute quantity of predetermined resources of the computer system to compute the absolute quantity of the resources, and if devices (clients 10n+1 to 10n+m) are to be added to a newly constructed computer system, substitutes the environment composition information for an incremental quantity estimation expression that estimates the incremental quantity for predetermined resources of the computer system to compute the incremental quantity of the resources.
