PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system for maintenance of address files. SOLUTION: This system is mainly constituted of: a correction system 20 for implementing management of the address files 42 and automatic correction; and a check.system 10 which is connected to an ISDN line through an ISDN communication interface 12, and capable of checking telephone number using JT-Q931 line call procedure by making a telephone call to the telephone number of the address files 42. The constitution of this check system is provided with a basically similar constitution to a well-known line diagnosis apparatus. The correction system 20 is connected to a public line through a modem 22 being a line interface and provided with a national telephone book CD-ROM storing information of telephone books throughout the country.
