<p>A compact, lightweight instrument (110) for non-invasive blood analyte determination employs a light source (60) incorporating an assembly of LEDs (10) interconnected within a thermally stable substrate (20). A large diameter mixer (61) couples the signal to a fiber optic probe for delivering the signal to a tissue measurement site. Back-diffused light is collected and dispersed across an array of photo detectors (90) in a miniature spectrometer (80) instrument. A high-speed DSP (112) executes an algorithm for predicting concentration of a target analyte, which is ouptput to a LCD display (113). Instrument control is by means of keypad or voice recognition.</p> |
