The inductive displacement sensor has a sliding magnetically permeable measuring head (10), at least one measuring loop (30) with a geometric configuration which alters in dependence on the displacement position of the measuring head and at least one energizing loop (20) for generating a magnetic flux field for the measuring head, which provides an induced electrical signal in the measuring loop. The induced electrical signal is compared with an induced reference voltage in at least one reference loop (40) which has a constant geometric configuration.
