PURPOSE: A fishing banks managing system and a method thereof are provided to detect a location of a ship approaching to a fishing banks at real time and display fishing banks information at real time. CONSTITUTION: A DGPS receiver(3) receives a signal received by a ground DGPS receiving base station from a GPS satellite and a GPS satellite signal and calculates a current location. An electronic compass(5) provides a moving direction of a ship. A database section(17) stores location information of a fishing banks, an electronic marine chart, and data which a user inputs. A computer loads the current location signal calculated by the DGPS receiver(3), a signal from the electronic compass(5), the location information of a fishing banks, the electronic marine chart, and the data which a user inputs stored in the database section(17). The computer calculates a relative location of a fishing banks, a moving distance of the ship, and a moving direction of the ship on the electronic marine chart. A display device(19) displays the values calculated by the computer so that a user recognizes locations of the fishing banks and ship, and a moving direction of the ship.
