LESS COLORED TRANS-1,3-DICHLOROPROPENE AND PROCESS FOR PRODUCING THE SAME

Less colored trans-1,3-dichloropropene and a process for producing it. A composition comprising cis-1,3-dichloropropene, trans-1,3-dichloropropene, and a C6 compound is subjected to a distillation step and to the step of causing chlorine or bromine to act. Thus, the cis-1,3-dichloropropene is removed as a low-boiling matter. The resultant residue is distilled. Thus, the C6 compound which has been chlorinated is removed as a high-boiling ingredient and the trans-1,3-dichloropropene is obtained as a low-boiling ingredient.
