The plug-in coupling has a tubular plug-in part (3) with a peripheral retaining lip (4) and a coupling housing (1) with a cylindrical reception space (2) for the plug-in part, its retaining lip engaged by a separate retaining element with sprung retaining edges (11) projecting radially inwards and released via pressure plates (15) accessed via openings in the housing wall (17) of the coupling housing. The pressure plates are covered via a spring-biased sliding protection sleeve (18) coupled to an inner sleeve (20), cooperating with a ring (23) acted on by the insertion of the plug-in part, for moving the protection sleeve over the pressure plates.
