PURPOSE: An intake muffler of compressor is provided to improve performance of the compressor by increasing amount of refrigerant flowing into a cylinder. CONSTITUTION: A muffler(200) comprises a muffler inlet(22); a first and a second chambers(24a,24b), a connecting pipe(25); a refrigerant supply pipe(26); a Helmholz's resonator(28); and a vibration member. The muffler inlet takes refrigerant having passed an evaporator into the muffler. The first and second chambers temporarily store the refrigerant. The connecting pipe connects the first chamber with the second chamber. The refrigerant supply pipe moves the refrigerant in the first and second chambers to an intake valve of a cylinder. The Helmholz's resonator damps noise of specific frequency. The vibration member is a vibrating table(42) with a fixed oscillation frequency corresponding with pulsatory pressure flux generated in the second chamber between the connecting pipe and the refrigerant supply pipe by movement of a piston in the cylinder. to cause supercharging effect to increase pressure.
