The block for a parquet floor is of three laminated layers (10,14,15) with a durably elastic joint sealing mass (12) between the blocks. The half-joint (9) around each block is formed by a projection of the base layer (10) which defines the base (5) and side wall (13) of the joint zone. When the blocks are together, the two half-joints form a common joint zone (7) between them to take the sealing mass. Grooves (18) under the base layer are engaged by the holders (19) which lock four parquet blocks together.
