The support plate (3) has at least one opening for reception and positioning of a rod (6a,6b,6c) relative to a diverter column of a HV overvoltage diverter and is formed from a number of axially adjacent and partially overlapping partial plates (2a,2b), provided with curved slots cooperating for providing the openings.
