The present invention includes a dampening solution recirculator (34) and a method for circulating dampening solution in a reservoir (27, 29) of a dampener (26, 28). The dampening solution recirculator includes a tank (50) for storing dampening solution, a pump (46) for pumping dampening solution form the tank, a venturi (78, 80) positioned proximate the pump and the tank and including an inlet port (76) in fluid communication with the pump, a suction port (86, 88), and a discharge port (90, 92) in fluid communication with the tank. A feed conduit (36, 38) has a first end in fluid communication with the pump and a second end positioned above the reservoir. A suction conduit (40, 42) has a first end positioned at a predetermined level within the reservoir extending in a direction upwardly and away from the reservoir and a second end in fluid communication with the suction port.
