A thin disk loading mechanism in which a turntable (36) itself is defined by the contour of a brushless spindle motor, a chucking face for a disk (11) is precisely defined at a predetermined height on a turntable base (46), posts (47) in three directions along a circumference surrounding the periphery of the turntable (36) are planted in the turntable base (46), and a post fore end step portion (47b) and a disk mounting face (36a) of the turntable (36) have accurate predetermined dimensions. When the post fore end step portion (47b) abuts against the lower face (reference plane (L)) of a drive base (15), the relative positions of the disk mounting face (36a) of the turntable (36) and a pickup constructed with reference to the lower face of the drive base (15) are accurately defined.
