<p>The computer vision based keyboard apparatus is invented to enter text, numbers, characters to computers, personal digital assistants, and other devices having microprocessors. In this apparatus the keyboard can be made out of paper, fabric, plastic or polymer having an image of a regular keyboard where the character locations are marked as nonoverlapping regions. The user covers the character or key locations using his/her fingers or a pointer and his/her actions are captured by a camera connected to the computer. The characters covered by fingers or pointers are recognized using computer vision techniques by analyzing the video produced by the camera. Due to this reason the computer vision based keyboard apparatus does neither need an antenna nor a cable connecting the keyboard to the computer.</p> |
