A ball screw has a ball roll spindle (22) and a nut (24) adjustable along the ball roll spindle plus between both, ball bodies (26) riding on each other. The ball roll spindle can be driven in rotating fashion for the axial adjustment of the nut. The ball bodies roll away on parallel ball roll paths (28) located in the ball roll spindle with a final inclination and are assigned to profiled grooves (30) corresponding to the ball roll paths in the nut. The profiled grooves in the nut work together with ball return guides so that the ball bodies move on closed paths. For the separation and guidance of the ball bodies, ball cages (10) are provided, every two ball bodies being surrounded by a separate ball cage.
